MANTRA SADHANA

The Tantrik Science of Śabdha Brahman

A full-day workshop exploring mantra as a the science of sound, consciousness and transformation.

An in-depth introduction to the understanding of mantra in Tantrik practice, from the nature of sacred sound to the principles of mantra sadhana.

In Tantrik traditions, mantra is not simply a sacred word or a tool for concentration. A mantra is understood as the energy-body of an enlightened deity, a precise embodiment of its power and consciousness.

Through sustained sadhana, the practitioner enters into relationship with this living power, allowing the mantra and its deity to gradually reshape their own experience.

While mantra practice is widespread, the science that underlies it remains little understood. Why does a mantra work? What is its relationship to sound, consciousness and deity? What makes its practice effective?

Without this knowledge, even regular practice can remain superficial. To understand the science of mantra is to begin to understand the extraordinary potential contained within it.

Topics Covered

  • The philosophy and mechanics of Tantrik mantra practice, and how to approach mantra as a genuine practice.

  • How to work with the four resonant chambers of the heart, throat, mouth and sinuses to produce audible mantra and explore different energetic effects.

  • Uccāra - the practice of guiding mantra through the central channel towards the crown.

  • Samuccāra - a powerful dynamic practice using the OM mantra.

  • A selection of mantras that can be practiced without formal initiation from a lineage master.

  • The four levels of Vāk, or the different levels through which divine speech manifests, and their relationship to the chakras.

  • How mantra can quiet the discursive mind and lead awareness back towards its source.

Mantra is one of the most effective technologies for transformation.

Workshop Experience

  • Learn by practice - explore the principles of mantra through guided Tantrik practices, not just theory.
